The Attorney General of Louisiana, Liz Murrill, has filed a lawsuit against Roblox Corporation accusing the gaming platform of allowing sexual predators to operate freely on its platform and failing to uphold basic child safety protections. The complaint alleges that Roblox has not implemented sufficient content moderation, age verification, or parental controls, resulting in “an environment where predators thrive, unite, hunt and victimize kids.”
The lawsuit claims that the platform knowingly facilitated the distribution of child sexual abuse material, exploited weak safety controls, and placed profit over user safety. It seeks permanent injunctions, civil penalties, and changes to safety policies to ensure better protection for minors.
