2 Lawsuits Filed Over Sexual Misconduct by WA Doctor & Hospital System

Five new lawsuits have been brought by women against Providence Health & Services, Kadlec Regional Medical Center, and Kadlec Clinic, alleging sexual abuse by OB/GYN Dr. Mark Mulholland. The complaints span routine exams, prenatal care, and surgical procedures where the patients say he crossed boundaries, made inappropriate contact, or disregarded patient consent.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs claim the medical providers and institutions received staff and patient reports over many years but failed to act, allowing Mulholland’s behavior to continue unchecked. The Washington State Medical Commission has received formal complaints aligning with the plaintiffs’ allegations.

For survivors, this is an example of holding both individuals and systems responsible. It shows that even longstanding professionals can be challenged in court when institutional oversight fails to protect patients.
